Saturday's Events.

Today I attended a birthday party for the Pucek family (well, five of them anyway). Since they have 5 birthday's within the course of 3-4 weeks, they decided to have one big party instead of 5 separate ones. The party was held outside at a park that had the necessary equipment to play two of my favorite sports, soccer and volleyball (we also played ultimate frisbee on the soccer field). God blessed us with beautiful blue skies, sunshine, and gusty winds - which did make playing ultimate frisbee a bit of a challenge.

Regretfully, I chose not to put on sunscreen until late in the day, so my day went something like this....I played volleyball, got sunburned, ate lunch, got sunburned, played soccer, got sunburned, played volleyball, got sunburned, played ultimate frisbee, got sunburned, played more volleyball, and yes, got more sunburned. In all honesty, though, I have had much worse sunburns before, and I had a very enjoyable day, in spite of my rather foolish decision not to wear sunscreen.

The Torres family once again blessed us by their hospitality, providing sandwiches for lunch for three hungry bachelors, allowing us to ride out with their family, and then inviting us to dinner in the evening. Tim Horn, Michael Fowl, and myself all thoroughly enjoyed the fellowship with Andrew and Mr. Torres during the day, and then Mr. Torres' wonderful cooking in the evening! Thank you Torres'!!!

Many thanks are also due to the Pucek family for hosting such an enjoyable day. I thank God for the many friends that he has blessed me with here in San Antonio, and for the incredible hospitality that I constantly see modeled by the families of the local assemblies. This truly is a rarity, even among the church, in today's convenience driven world.
