Preliminary Thoughts on Marriage.

Here is an excellent post by Mark Stubblefield regarding some of the practical aspects related to marriage that many young men tragically overlook when considering pursuing a bride. Gratefully, there has been a revival of sorts in the hearts of an increasing number of single young men, who are beginning to see their responsibility to actively prepare themselves for marriage. Oftentimes, though, they become so focused on meeting the threshold qualifications (able to provide, established in his life mission and in need of a helpmeet, etc.), that they forget that they are just that, threshold qualifications. They fail to think about many other serious topics that left unconsidered can have disastrous consequences, not only to them, but also for their future progeny for many generations.

I hope to address this further in the near future, but for now, read Mark's post, and be sure to read the comments by Caleb Hayden as well. I hope that you find them as challenging and encouraging as I have.

Hey Barnes,

It's nice to see that you have a blog. Everyone is getting a blog, which is great because it allows us to keep in contact and share thoughts and goings-on with the larger body of Christ in this nation, and even perhaps around the world.

Thanks for referencing Mark's blog. It is important information that people must read and understand. Young men have a high calling from God, but we have largely underperformed. It is wonderful to see that there are many who are now opening the "lost book of the Law" and trying to return to the ancient paths of God's Word.

Keep up the good work. Great to see your thoughts. I will keep checking back.

Peter, asking someone to link to you on your blog is like asking someone to advertise in your magazine, its just cheap. :)

Mr. Barnes,

I think it is good that you have a place to write your thoughts...if nothing else, it will make you a better writer.

Keep up the good work...many are watching.

PS- Glad to see you dropped the "sign." :)
